Recently........

Here is a little update on what we have been up to lately. Sami and I hosted a shower for Amanda and her little Annie on the way this past weekend. We did a Shower of Firsts which means that each guest brought a gift according to the first they were given, for example, Baby's First Bath Time, Story Time, PlayTime etc.... We played some fun games too - the favorite was when all were given a newborn onesie and was allowed to decorate/design it using fabric makers, Amanda then picked her favorite. We all had a great time and now we are even more excited for little Annie to get here!!!

We also celebrated DJ's 25th Birthday this past Sunday. Here is how he chose to celebrate:

We bought this 1985 Jeep before we took our trip to the DR. We discovered that it was difficult having just one car between the 3 of us - we were thinking maybe a scooter or a bike, well in DJ's search on KSL this is what he found!! Not exactly what I had in mind but it works! DJ loves it! Amongst other celebrations we made a delicious monstrous 7 layer cake:

As for MJ, she is rolling all over the place, that is her mode of transportation! It is pretty entertaining to watch! She is happy that she has finally figured out how to get around on her own. And as for us dealing with her new mode of transportation we are slowly learning to baby proof the house. Here is the latest that she got into:


Yep, wrapping paper! And for those of you who know DJ he is always doing something to get a reaction out of MJ - And here is the latest thing DJ gave her for a reaction:

Peeps!! You can only imagine my reaction!! I think he not only wants a reaction out of her but also out of me!! :)

Aerobics!

So today I started going to an aerobics class. It wore me out but I want to make a habit out of it! To all of you that live near by, mostly those from the ward, I want to invite you to come with me!! It is always more exciting when you have somebody to go with you! Some of you may of heard of it, they have it at a nearby church at approx. 98th South and 2700 West. The teacher is awesome and you also can bring your kiddies along with you!! They hold it every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9am to 10am. Let me know if you are interested!

Back from the Caribbean!

We had an awesome time down in the Domincan Republic with DJ's family. DJ and I had forgotten how different things can be in a different country. Driving on the roads for example was complete madness! It seems as if they throw out all the traffic laws - no stopping at stoplights, no respect for lane lines, etc... Oh but how it is beautiful down there. We were able to go to 4 different beaches, and each one was unique, at one of them we were able to go snorkeling!! DJ and I also had the opportunity of going to a resort for a night without little MJ. One always imagines what it would be like to stay at a resort from what you hear and info from the media, well for us our stay at a resort met and exceeded our expectations. Eat what you want, whenever you want, and go as you please exploring all the recreation they have to offer. Best of all there is a beach at you side all the time! Thanks DJ's parents for that awesome opportunity!! We also had a great time shopping and haggling with the sellers. MJ did really well down there. She received plenty of attention from all the locals. They always wanted to touch her and always stated that she looked like a baby doll.
